The role
Support Worker Roles.
Support workers at Advocate Care assist participants with a range of daily activities and community supports. Support workers play a vital role in helping participants achieve their goals and maintain a high quality of life.
Responsibilities may include
Personal Care
Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks with dignity and respect.
Household Support
Supporting participants with household activities to maintain a comfortable home.
Community Access
Accompanying participants to appointments and community outings.
Skill Development
Encouraging independence and skill development in everyday activities.
Documentation
Maintaining clear and accurate shift notes and documentation.
Ideal candidates
What We Look For.
We are seeking support workers who are compassionate, reliable and committed to providing respectful and person-centred support.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A positive and patient approach
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A commitment to supporting participant choice and independence
Experience in disability support is highly valued, however applicants with the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
What You'll Need.
To work with Advocate Care, applicants should have the following.
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Or willingness to obtain prior to commencing
Working With Children Check
Required for some roles depending on participant age
First Aid & CPR
Current certification required
Driver's Licence
Valid licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Right to Work
Must have the right to work in Australia
Additional training or qualifications in disability support, community services or related fields are highly regarded.
